The HTML Screencast

I thought that html screencast was pretty handy for people. It could either serve as a reminder to the basic steps of html design or teach someone who doesn't even know what html is. Even though it covers the basics, I thought it could've been a bit more detailed as in what some of the commands mean such as <p>. I also found it helpful on how they give you multiple ways of doing things such as bolding or italicizing words with the commands <strong> and <em> (I believe that's the right one). Overall that is a very useful video for all.

Laura and her 25 days of making a difference.

Here is a pic of Laura trying to make a difference by shoveling a walkway by the street. I hope that little girl enspires some other people on this Earth to try to make this a better place for all. It's a shame that a little girl is nicer than most other people in this world. Her sister helps her also, which is wonderful for how young they are. To see or get more info on what's going on with them, check out their site, http://twentyfivedays.wordpress.com/ . It's a shame though that she lost her grandfather to brain cancer, even though that was what gave her the inspiration to go out on her 25 days of making a difference. Hopefully, her doings will actually have an impact on other people throughout this world. Right now, I'm trying to help out by babysitting every now and then.

Is Evan truely missing?

At first, when I read the email regarding that Evan Trembley was missing, I honestly did feel sorrow at first for the family. Missing a person, especially a loved one, is a terrible feeling. The email did seem a bit suspicious at first being that it was missing some more basic information and that a certain part was put in quotes while the rest of it wasn't. It wasn't until searching on google about this guy that the truth was revealed.
On snopes.com, they had this same email posted there, but they supplied info that showed it was fake. An example, the Police officer's information. There was no officer named Rick Williams at that police station and the proper name for it was 610 Holiday or something like that. I personally think that was a dumb thing to do on the prankster's side looking at all the comotion that was started from that email and how much people are actually responding to it. I now feel a bit dumb on my part for not noticing some of the signs quickly on the email and a bit of sorrow for Evan himself for getting himself into this giant affair.

The fourth safe blogging video

The fourth safe blogging video, I found to be a bit awkward. I believe most people find it awkward when someone such as the little girl in the video is talking to an older person online and the older person tries to get fresh with them. Thankfully, there is a block feature on some of the more common types of instant messaging, such as AIM, so one can block any predators or suspicious characters. I think the video was a bit on the broad side though, being that the video didn't make it seem as the older man wanted to bring the relationship towards sexual harrasment or things related to that, but more of a kidnapping type of activity. As a final word, I believe that if one wants to get into a relationship, they should search around where they live and not on the internet, because who knows what one will find online.

The Council Video

Recently, I viewed the safe blogging video with the council speech. I do find the message at the end very true. I find it like the saying, "if you have nothing good to say, then dont speak at all." I liked the way the directors of this clip presented the clip. I found it unique being that it uses the real world, like the first video, rather than the online cyber bully commercials which show you instant messages of the cyber bullying.

Video posts

I viewed the first video posted about web safety just around now. I would say its a pretty good video, and a bit humorous to add to that. The humor I found in it was just the expression of the people passing around the picture of the chick. One thing I do have in mind after watching that video is how most/some websites today, offer/give one the ability to remove any pictures or videos of themselves at anytime just about. The video also shows how fast one simple picture can spread around, and who knows what will happen next.

Globalization

Today, we searched on various online search engines for info on the origins of several tennis players. Those tennis players were the ones featured in the U.S. Open. Using wikipedia, finding the origin of players such as Venus and Serena Williams, and Andy Roddick were a breeze. This sparked some ideas to the saying, "It's a small world" due to the thought that people are only a cell phone call away or just a link away on the internet. Anyone can post a video of themselves, wether using a webcame or just uploading a video or two from a digital camera, thus removing the need for far travel to see others. Then, we created new accounts for google and for blogsearch. We made our own blogs online using google blogger. Also, we customized the blogs. After that day, we found out how to make links on our posts on our blogs.
